![]() Hello im interested on how you got on with these and also if you wouldnt mind a little clarification, did you use any type of filler to keep the powder close to the primer or drill the flash hole? and did you seat the bullet to the lands or standard seating depth, or was everything standard like in any other bullet. In 30-30 I load 10gr of Trail Boss in Win brass and CCI200 primers with 170gr JFP bullets. And I have a donor rossi single shot pistol. I ended up with a short (10') 1-8 twist 308 barrel. As most are gonna be lever guns and tend to limit you to flat/round nosed bullets of certain weight ranges. 308 Winchester that is at the smith's getting threaded for my Suppressor. 30-30 load data seems a bit sparse at times. I have been loading subsonic for the whisper/300 Blackout forever and having a ball shooting supressed subsonic rounds. If possible a 300blk would be a lot simpler set up for subsonic in. The cases are so close they are basically the same. I hand trickled all of these loads individually. I had good luck with trail boss (doughnut shapes fill cases better) and I think unique in the 45-70 I dont think I tried any others. Use a Hornady 170 round nose bullet with a start point of about 10.0 grains of Trailboss powder, have used this combo for years, works very well. Ill change it out eventually but def keep a close eye on subs with jackets.
